Crypto Phishing Scams Stole $5.2 Million From Over 7000 Users in April
Blockchain security firm Scam Sniffer reports a 17% decline in crypto phishing losses to $5.2 million in April, down from March’s $6.37 million. Despite the drop in total value, victim counts surged by 26%, with 7,565 individuals ensnared by fraudulent schemes.
The most damaging attack involved a $1.4 million theft through a phishing signature scheme, where victims unknowingly approved malicious token transfer requests. Address spoofing techniques like ’address poisoning’ also featured prominently in last month’s attacks.
